Tour the Visitor Center

The Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitors Center houses award winning exhibits on the paleontology, archaeology, geology and wildlife of this desert region.

Uniquely situated under a desert garden on the west end of Palm Canyon Drive

The Visitor Center hours may vary. Please visit the ABDSP website for the most current schedule.

Exhibits

A natural history museum for the Park, geologic history and paleontology as well as cultural and natural history, are featured in the exhibits and movies.

See the skull of the most complete Mammoth meridionalis (Southern mammoth) found in North America. And find out how these fossils were found and recovered from the desert badlands. A giant tortoise Hesperotestudo and Sabertooth Cat are among the many interesting specimens on display.

The Visitors Center Theater presents beautifully filmed movies about the Park.
